Art Slant
Alternative Media at P.S.1 presents an afternoon with Lovely Daze, a biannual independent artists' publication founded by Charwei Tsai and co-edited by Lesley Ma. Tsai, a New York-based artist, and Ma, the project manager for Cai Guo-Qiang, will introduce their publication and discuss how it was conceived and how it has evolved over time. They will also offer a preview of their upcoming issue, "Numbers," a focus on numbers as a value system and the ways in which it has influenced our everyday lives.

Joining Tsai and Ma are four contributors featured in the upcoming issue, including Azra Akšamija, an artist and architect from MIT; Max Schumann, "cheap art" practitioner and Associate Director of Printed Matter Inc; Hisham Akira Bharoocha, a visual artist and musician, formerly a member of Black Dice and currently performing with his own band, Soft Circle; and Jordan Wolfson, an artist based in New York and Berlin.

Lovely Daze is an independently published collection of artists' writings and artworks founded in New York in 2005. It is published in limited editions of 500 and contributors include Yoko Ono, Rita Ackermann, AA Bronson, Cory Arcangel, Paper Rad, and Japanther.

Umbrella Editions
In this beautifully designed periodical, the texts and images are so beautifully meshed that the journal serves as a springboard for mental journeys through a varied and technically different series of images and words. The journal, handsewn, also contains a little artist booklet by Cristina Rodriguez swen into the binding - and so many other ventures in tripping away from those daily chores! Biographies of each contributor at the end. (New York, C. Tsai, 2006, $18.00) and well worth it!
